Solar Panels

Solar water heating panels use the power in both direct and diffused sunlight, converting the energy into heat, to produce hot water for the home.

A well-sized solar water heating system could provide up to 60% of your annual hot water requirements.

Solar panels as installed by Plumbo Jumbo Ltd are designed to go with existing heating systems that use a cylinder to store hot water.

How does solar hot water (thermal) work?

Solar thermal panels (known as solar thermal) capture energy from the sun and use the energy generated to produce hot water. How it works is simple, the thermal solar panels (collectors) on your roof absorb energy from the sun. A singular liquid in the panels heats up and is pumped through a coil in your hot water cylinder which transfers the heat to your domestic water system.

Solar thermal panels normally provide most of the hot water from around April to September, when the suns energy is at its peak, the months on either side of this period the efficiency drops away and only contributes to the hot water heating supply.

Plumbo Jumbo Ltd are able to discuss the most appropriate options and positioning of panels for your home.
